Known as “queen of the white grapes”, it usually results in complex and rich wines. It is believed to have originated in the Burgundy wine region of eastern France. Very versatile, it can adapt well to several wine regions around the world.
Chardonnay berries are relatively small, round, amber color and translucent when ripe. It results in one of the best wines for oak aging. Its wine is buttery, fruity and, when the winemaking process includes oak aging, the wine will be smooth, with no aggressive acidity and will have aroma of vanilla.
Aromas and flavors: pineapple, green apple, lime, pear, melon, butter, wax, honey, vanilla and spices.
